This year's recipient of the Spar Nord Foundation Research Award is Neelu Madan who did her PhD at AAU's Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology (CREATE) in collaboration with the company Milestone Systems. The area is artificial intelligence (AI) and the thesis presents alternative solutions to deal with bias and noise in annotated datasets for video surveillance.

The Spar Nord Foundation Research Award is given to a junior researcher who in the past year completed and had approved a particularly excellent PhD project.

An expert assessment committee of representatives from each main area selects the recipient of the award in conjunction with the Spar Nord Foundation.

The award comes with a DKK 250,000 cash prize.
